AssayNet LIMS4 version 4.4.7 introduces a new sample storage workflow, a visual Security Matrix for managing permissions, and major improvements to quality control and reporting.
A new dedicated screen lets you find samples using filters or by scanning a product barcode, then group and assign them to storage locations directly from LIMS 4, either individually or by product. This replaces relying on paper or memory to track where samples physically live. Assigning samples to storage now happens through a guided dialog: scan a sample or product, confirm the target location, and LIMS 4 handles the rest. A companion screen gives you full control over your storage hierarchy: create, edit, and delete locations and containers, with a safeguard that stops you from deleting one while it still holds samples. Printed storage labels now include the parent location, so a label tells you exactly where a container sits within your storage structure, not just its own name. You can also print stored-sample labels and lists, and export stored-sample data directly from the screen.
A new Security Matrix gives administrators a single, visual grid of every role against every permission, so you can see exactly what each role is allowed to do without opening and checking each role individually. Permissions that come from a policy are flagged directly in the grid, so you can tell at a glance which access is policy-driven versus set manually. A select-all option also lets you apply or clear permissions across many actions at once instead of one at a time.
Preparation QC, QC Spikes, and Preparation Splits are now configurable directly in LIMS 4, along with a new option to calculate a prep blank’s acceptance against the detection limit instead of always comparing it to the previous sample. QC Calibration Standards and Control Samples also get dedicated configuration screens.
The report designer is now fully integrated into LIMS 4, and Mine, Plant, and Mill exports are driven directly by your project scheme configuration. Together, these bring LIMS 4 to parity with LIMS 3 on reporting and exporting, making it easier for consultants to work across both systems without losing functionality.
Every configuration screen you previously had to go back to LIMS 3 for is now available directly in LIMS 4. You no longer need to switch between the two applications to manage your configuration.
