Detour Gold Corporation (TSX: DGC) is a Canadian gold mining company with a highly experienced management and technical team. The Company’s primary focus is the successful ramp-up of its flagship asset – the Detour Lake Mine, located in the mining-friendly territory of northeastern Ontario. With more than 15.5 million ounces in reserves and excellent growth potential, Detour Lake is on track to become Canada’s largest operating gold mine (expected to produce an average of 660,000 ounces of gold annually over a mine life of 20+ years). Detour Gold’s vision is to become a leading intermediate gold producer and premier investment while maintaining the highest standards of sustainability and accountability.

Business Challenges
ORE TRACKING: Managing low-grade ore, high throughput, and mill feed blending was a constant battle for Detour Gold. They needed real-time ore control to optimize dilution, stockpile balance, and grade reporting from model to mill.
MINING, ENGINEERING AND MAINTENANCE: Our client needed a centralized system to manage budgets, forecasts, and targets, ensuring accurate KPI tracking. They also required detailed drilling and blasting reports, consumables tracking, and blast performance analysis to optimize costs.
PROCESSING: Detour Gold’s high-capacity processing plant needed seamless data capture, reporting, and metals reconciliation. Relying on spreadsheets for metals balancing created inefficiencies, and a solution was needed to integrate real-time processing metrics into management reporting and dashboards.
‘MARKET’ TO MODEL RECONCILIATION: The company needed a reliable system for metals and production reconciliation to track resource performance and mine-to-mill production rates. Data was scattered across spreadsheets and third-party systems like iCare, making health, safety, and environmental reporting fragmented.
MANAGEMENT: Detour Gold’s management, both on-site and at Toronto headquarters, needed consistent daily, weekly, and monthly reports for better decision-making. A scalable system was required to support future financial data integration with SAP.

Implementation Process

Centric Mining Systems implemented a phased strategy to enhance Detour Gold’s operations, focusing on real-time data integration, automation, and enterprise-wide optimization.

PHASE 3- Enterprise Optimization

Key Actions: PI System integration for model-to-market reconciliation, standardized KPI tracking, automated health and safety reporting, and real-time safety dashboards with iCare integration.

Outcome: Achieved full operational connectivity, advanced reconciliation, and enterprise-wide visibility for data-driven optimization.
