Job Description

The Business Development Manager – Brazil, Datamine Portfolio is a key commercial role responsible for expanding Datamine’s presence and driving growth across our full suite of mining technology solutions within the Brazilian market.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this position focuses on executing a regional sales strategy that aligns with Datamine’s global growth objectives and strengthens our market leadership across exploration, geology, resource estimation, mine planning, operations, and sustainability.

The role combines strategic sales execution, key account management, and collaboration with Datamine’s global teams to deliver measurable business outcomes and exceptional customer value.

Responsibilities

  1. Regional Sales Strategy and Execution:

    • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow Datamine’s market share across Brazil’s mining sector.
    • Identify and prioritise key opportunities within major mining regions and across commodities.
    • Drive revenue growth through new business acquisition, renewals, and expansion of existing accounts.
    • Maintain an accurate, probability-weighted sales pipeline and provide timely forecasts aligned with business goals.
  2. Business Development and Client Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at all organisational levels—from technical specialists to C-suite executives.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their operational challenges and positioning Datamine’s solutions to deliver measurable value.
    • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across Datamine’s portfolio to maximise customer lifetime value.
    • Represent Datamine at major mining events, exhibitions, and conferences throughout Brazil and Latin America to enhance visibility and brand awareness.
  3. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Alignment:

    • Work closely with marketing, product management, and technical services to ensure customer success and strategic alignment.
    • Collaborate with regional and global sales teams to coordinate enterprise-level opportunities and multinational accounts.
    • Engage with other Vela and Constellation Software portfolio companies to identify joint sales opportunities and share best practices.
  4. Contract Negotiation and Deal Management:

    • Lead commercial negotiations and manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to contract closure.
    • Ensure pricing and contractual terms meet both customer needs and company objectives.
    • Oversee a smooth handover from sales to implementation and support teams to maintain client satisfaction and retention.

Qualifications

  • Proven success in enterprise or B2B sales, ideally within the mining software, technology, or industrial digital transformation sectors.
  • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in a quota-carrying business development role.
  • Strong understanding of the Brazilian mining market, including major operators, contractors, and regional dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage long sales cycles and complex solution-based selling.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Geosciences, or related discipline (MBA preferred).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with fluency in Portuguese and English.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and commercial acumen.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a global matrix organisation.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Brazil and occasionally across Latin America.

Compensation

Remuneration commensurate with skills and experience will combine a fixed salary and on-target performance earnings. Includes uncapped earnings potential with attractive accelerators for overachievement.
