Job Description

The Global Business Development Manager – Fleet & Asset Management is a key strategic role within Datamine, responsible for driving global growth and market adoption of our Fleet & Asset Management solutions.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this position focuses on developing and executing a comprehensive global sales and go-to-market strategy to strengthen Datamine’s presence and customer base in fleet management, dispatch, and operational performance optimisation.

Success in this role will be realised through measurable growth in revenue and market share across global mining operations, ensuring Datamine remains a trusted partner for operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  1. Global Sales Strategy and Market Expansion:

    • Develop and execute a global sales plan to position Datamine’s Fleet & Asset Management solutions as the market leader across surface and underground mining operations.
    • Identify high-value markets, strategic accounts, and new growth regions aligned with Datamine’s global objectives.
    • Lead go-to-market initiatives for new solution releases and major product enhancements.
    • Deliver consistent pipeline growth and revenue forecasts aligned with global business goals.
  2. Business Development and Client Engagement:

    • Build and nurture strategic relationships with senior decision-makers, operations managers, and technology leaders across the global mining industry.
    • Understand client needs and operational challenges to articulate Datamine’s value proposition and deliver customised, outcome-driven solutions.
    • Identify opportunities for integration and cross-sell across Datamine’s full suite of technologies.
    • Represent Datamine at key industry events, conferences, and exhibitions worldwide to promote brand visibility and thought leadership.
  3. Collaboration and Strategic Partnerships:

    • Work closely with internal teams—including product management, marketing, and service delivery—to align commercial strategies with product capabilities and customer feedback.
    • Collaborate with regional sales teams to support large-scale enterprise deals and regional execution.
    • Leverage synergies across the broader Vela and Constellation Software portfolio to unlock new partnership opportunities and joint customer engagements.
  4. Deal Management and Negotiation:

    • Lead end-to-end deal processes, including proposal development, pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and closure.
    • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and ensure smooth transition from sales to implementation and ongoing support.
    • Ensure adherence to internal policies, commercial frameworks, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Proven success in enterprise sales or business development within the mining technology, fleet management, or asset optimisation domains.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a quota-carrying role, managing both strategic and complex technical sales cycles.
  • Strong understanding of mining operations, fleet dispatch systems, telemetry, or production monitoring technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive large-scale digital transformation and technology adoption initiatives within mining operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Mining, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong global business network within the mining and technology sectors is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, capable of influencing senior executives and operational teams alike.
  • High personal drive and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently across time zones.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.

Compensation

Remuneration commensurate with skills and experience will combine a fixed salary and on-target performance earnings. Includes uncapped earnings potential with attractive accelerators for overachievement.
