Get to know Anuradha a little better through the interview below:
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I was born and raised in Bangalore, India. After finishing my Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science in 2014, I moved to Brisbane in QLD, Australia’s second-largest state by area, where I then graduated from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) with a master’s degree in Information Technology in 2016.
I started my professional career at RPMGlobal Holdings Pty Ltd in 2015 as a Graduate Software Engineer. Initially, it was a big learning curve for me, but with the help of my intelligent and wonderful colleagues I was able to pick up new technologies and add value to the company. Once I realised I had learned everything I could in that role, I decided to seek a new challenge and as a result I joined Datamine.
Can you explain some of the challenges you consult to your clients on in a few sentences and how you help them improve?
I think most clients would agree that it can be challenging to find the right technology that meets all business requirements. As a Software Engineer, I can help bridge this gap by researching suitable technologies and providing the right solution to the clients. I also strive to develop efficient and bug-free software to help clients meet their business needs.
What inspired your career in this industry?
Every time I started somewhere new or moved teams, I have had to quickly pick up new programming languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, Flutter, Dart to name a few.
Honestly, I have always enjoyed learning these technologies and putting them to good use by fixing bugs and creating new features. I am grateful that I get to explore new technologies every day in my line of work, and I plan to bring the same energy to Datamine. Every day I keep improving myself and the products that I work in.
What is the most satisfying aspect of your role / the work you do?
In my opinion, It’s very satisfying to see months of hard work and dedication on a product put to good use when it’s deployed onto a client’s machine which in turn helps solve problems and meet business goals.
What are your best memories from your career?
I moved to a new team in 2020 within RPMGlobal where I helped to improve the product, and clear a massive backlog of bugs and work items. As a result, the product’s usability was enhanced, resulting in securing its first client, which was very exciting!
What’s a fun fact about you?
Together with my partner, we love to visit Bunnings on Saturday mornings with a cup of coffee from their cafe. These visits inspired me to develop gardening as a hobby. To sum up, I am currently working on having microgreens or indoor plants in my home office.
