Studio OP 3.0 Public Release

PLANNING-Studio-OP-3.0

This Studio OP release features extensive improvements and new features throughout the application, such as improvements to auto design. There are many core engine enhancements, including new commands and speedups. It’s an amazing achievement by the Studio OP team, with everyone in UK engineering involved at some point over the past 12 months.

Auto Design improvements have been made to streamline your workflow. You can now simplify the formatting of design data using auto-design templates.

The Automated Pit Design and Dump Design task panels have been redesigned for easier generation of adaptive or fixed roads. Road override settings can now be defined at either the pit or bench level, and a pit void top surface can be generated when creating phase shell contours.

Additionally, the system can automatically convert absent values to a different value during model validation for planning managed tasks. A new Lift Sections toolbar has been introduced to support dump design operations, and intersection strings can be generated where pit design surface data intersects with the topography or contact surface. The Create Overlays feature allows for the generation of persistent objects and overlays for auto pit design data, useful in downstream tasks. You can now toggle filleting for individual bench or lift projections with a new Fillet Projected Contour string conditioning setting. A new projection method allows you to control how projected toe and crest strings are formed where severe angle changes occur.

Auto pit and dump design overlays, along with unmanaged objects, are no longer unloaded when the design task ends, allowing them to be used as visual references in other tasks.

Legend improvements include a new legend creator, the ability to create multiple attribute range legends, and enhancements to the Legends Manager for creating larger legends. Point Cloud Reconstruction 2.0 introduces a new console and multiple surfacing options, including interpolative and triangulation methods. Auto Scheduler improvements bring new capabilities such as partial solutions, the ability to define asynchronous attributes, and a new “merge with reclaim” option. Plotting enhancements continue with this update, offering useful shortcuts like improved zooming, quick filter support, and quick projection deselection.

And of course, Studio OP benefits from the latest Studio Core functionality improvements. Seven new design commands let you do more with CAD and wireframing. You can assign attributes to data from selected perimeters; generate a 2D grid anywhere in 3D space, with optional grid reference attribution; inject string points at a specified elevation; and much more.

About Studio OP

Studio OP is a comprehensive solution for short- and medium-term planning of open pit mines, offering mine planners a flexible environment for automated reserve generation, pit design, and scheduling. Its sophisticated algorithms and lightning fast unique rules-based automated pit design functionality has transformed mine engineers’ ability to produce and compare multiple alternative designs and layouts. The Auto Scheduler produces achievable schedules with desired financial outcomes, product blend specifications, and realistic equipment movement, requiring minimal manual intervention. Schedules can be exported to EPS for communication and reporting. Ideal for tactical mine planners, Studio OP helps produce optimal medium-term plans, budgets, and detailed short-term operational schedules, ensuring the best possible outcomes for your organisation.
