Akara Resources implemented Datamine’s CCLAS to create a seamless laboratory-to-geology data workflow. Through integration with laboratory instruments, downstream systems, and Datamine Fusion, the company improved data reliability, reduced manual effort, and ensured timely access to critical assay information.

Akara Resources Public Company Limited is the owner-operator of Thailand’s largest gold mining operation, the Chatree Gold Mine.

Strategic gold and silver operations

Located approximately 280 kilometers north of Bangkok across Phichit and Phetchabun Provinces, the site operates a large-scale open-pit gold and silver mine within the highly prospective Loei Fold Belt, positioning it as a key asset in Southeast Asia’s mining sector.

CHALLENGES

Prior to implementing CCLAS, assay data workflows relied on manual entry and transfer across multiple systems, creating a high risk of errors and inconsistencies.

In addition, limited integration between the laboratory and downstream users particularly Geology and Exploration teams resulted in fragmented data flows and reduced visibility. This made it difficult to access timely and reliable assay data for analysis and decision-making, highlighting the need for a more integrated and automated solution.

THE SOLUTION

Streamlining laboratory data management through integrated digital workflows
Laboratory data management automation
Akara Resources implemented Datamine’s CCLAS to automate laboratory data management and eliminate manual data handling.
Integrated data flow across operations
The system enables direct integration with laboratory instruments and seamless data transfer to downstream systems, ensuring accurate and consistent data availability across Exploration, Mining, and Processing teams.
Laboratory-to-geology integration
CCLAS is integrated with Datamine’s Fusion platform, which is actively used by Geology and Exploration teams at Akara.
Faster access to critical assay data
The integration enables seamless data flow from the laboratory into Fusion, ensuring assay data is readily available for geological modelling, exploration analysis, and faster decision-making.
Successful deployment and user adoption
Datamine supported the implementation with end-to-end deployment and user training, ensuring smooth adoption and effective system utilisation.

THE RESULTS
Reduced Productivity Losses
The implementation of CCLAS eliminated productivity losses associated with manual data handling and data errors.
Significant Time Savings
Akara Resources achieved approximately 20% time savings through streamlined laboratory data management processes.
Enhanced QA/QC Performance
The solution improved QA/QC accuracy by 10%, strengthening confidence in laboratory data and reporting.
Improved Data Reliability and Efficiency
These improvements have enhanced data reliability and increased operational efficiency across the organisation.
