Aegis 2025.2 Public Release

PLANNING-Aegis-2025.2

The Aegis 2025.2 release introduces several updates focused on improving tangential drilling workflows, ring design efficiency, reporting clarity, and overall usability.

Support for tangential drilling has been enhanced with the ability to enable a Manual Pivoting region on dumped rings, giving you finer control over pivot placement during design. A new per-hole control for tangential offset orientation helps align drill holes more accurately in complex geometries, reducing the need for manual adjustments later.

Ring editing is now faster and more intuitive with the addition of navigation hole insertion directly into rings. The Copy Holes from Rings tool also gains an “Adjust Collars” option, allowing for easier collar alignment when duplicating hole layouts—saving time and effort in ring setup.

Reporting and visual outputs benefit from clearer dimensioning, thanks to new collar-to-wall dimensions in both Designer and Reports. These improvements make design intent easier to communicate during print reviews or handovers.

Charge analysis calculations have been extended with support for custom charge diameters in the ChargeLengthForExplosive method. This added flexibility allows for more accurate hole-based table outputs in advanced charging scenarios. Additional usability updates include the new Mesh Operations Form for streamlined mesh tasks, improved Russian translations for tangential pivot controls, and consolidated contact details now directed to the Datamine Support team.

About Aegis

Aegis, comprising Aegis Designer and Aegis Analyzer, is created by mining engineers to design blasts for underground mines, including slot design and placement, charging, priming, timing, and more. With its extensive range of editing tools, Aegis Designer enables the creation of drill and blast patterns for an entire stope in seconds, allowing engineers to easily explore alternative designs. By swiftly generating customisable reports and IREDES exports, it facilitates the rapid transition of actionable designs into production. Aegis Analyzer is the most advanced underground blast analysis program globally and enables engineers to observe how changes to a pattern impact fragmentation, tonnage, cavity, costs, and profit. It is used to optimise ring patterns to maximise recovery, productivity, and profitability.
