CCLAS 6 2025-r2 Public Release

This release includes important infrastructure enhancements, with upgrades to several core system libraries, including Spring Framework 6.2, Spring Batch 5.22, Java 21, EhCache3, and Kubernetes 1.33.2. By updating these foundational components to their latest versions, we ensure that the software benefits from the most recent security patches, performance improvements, and enhanced capabilities. These changes not only strengthen the stability of the platform but also future-proof the product for ongoing development and integration.

Productivity and user experience improvements in this release are designed to streamline how you work day-to-day, from onboarding new CCLAS users to managing samples, jobs, and Workbooks more efficiently. In CCLAS, account management has been improved to automatically assign default roles to newly created accounts. For customers using corporate Active Directory integration, this means new users can now access CCLAS immediately after their accounts are created—without the need for manual intervention—making the onboarding process faster and smoother.

Sample Management workflows have been enhanced to improve internal data consistency and reduce manual cleanup. When schemes are removed from a sample, any associated QC Samples—such as replicates, duplicates, or spikes—will now have the same schemes automatically removed. If a QC Sample ends up with no remaining schemes, it will be removed from the system entirely, helping to maintain a clean and accurate dataset. In addition, samples can now be flagged as “Listed Not Received” (LNR), and this status will persist even after lab batching. This improvement saves time for lab operators by making it clear which samples were not received, avoiding delays in analysis due to unnecessary searches.

Advanced users now benefit from greater flexibility in managing jobs within the Registration and Workbook applications. New extensions to Job Locking rules allow these users to continue making necessary changes without being blocked by general restrictions—supporting more efficient workflows for experienced staff.

To streamline the reporting process, Job Notes can now be viewed and edited directly from within reporting applications. This reduces the need for operators to move between multiple systems and ensures that the final reports contain accurate, up-to-date commentary before being published or distributed.

The Workbook application has also received several targeted enhancements. Permissions for entering formulas that generate results are now more strictly controlled, ensuring that only authorised users can make changes that impact calculated outcomes. This builds on existing controls around formula editing, further reinforcing data integrity. Workbook users can now define preset groups of schemes to simplify selection—particularly useful when working with large numbers of schemes. Additional Analyte properties are now visible within the Workbook, providing valuable context for operators and aiding in the debugging of Workbook scripts during development.
