Datamine Task Scheduler (DTS) 4.0 is a powerful, modern Gantt chart scheduling tool purpose-built for both underground and open pit mining operations, now required for use with Studio UG 4.0 and Studio OP 4.0.
DTS supports a wide range of planning activities, from short-term task scheduling to long-term strategy, covering both production and non-production work such as maintenance, workplace preparation and shift changes. Planners can manage task dependencies and scheduling rules interactively, or apply built-in algorithms to resolve conflicts automatically. Its integration with Studio mine design software ensures that schedule changes reflect updates to designs or reserves in real time, helping you maintain accuracy and agility in your planning.

To support a smooth transition from Enhanced Product Scheduler (EPS), DTS 4.0 can read existing EPS schedule and template files, automatically upgrading them to the new format when saved. Alternatively, you can convert projects manually using the command line or the new ‘ConvertToDTS’ macro, giving you flexibility in how you move existing work into the new system.
DTS 4.0 also introduces a dedicated documentation site at docs.dataminesoftware.com, where you’ll find guides and resources to help you get up and running quickly.
Studio UG 4.0 and Studio OP 4.0 are not compatible with EPS and require DTS for all scheduling workflows, along with a dedicated DTS licence.
With DTS, mine planners benefit from a more robust, user-friendly, and dynamic scheduling environment that aligns closely with current design tools, offering improved visibility, control and efficiency in operational planning.
About Datamine Task Scheduler
Datamine Task Scheduler (DTS) is a Gantt chart scheduler specifically designed for underground and open pit scheduling that is suitable for operational short-term and long-term planning. DTS can schedule both production and non-production tasks such as maintenance, workplace preparation and shift changes. Mine planners can interactively update schedule rules and dependencies between tasks or use advanced levelling algorithms to automatically resolve scheduling conflicts. Gantt charts and many other reports provide operations with rich mine planning reports. Integration of DTS in Studio mine design software enables mine engineers to dynamically and interactively see the effects of changing designs and updated reserves on schedules.
