The 2024 release of PA Explorer introduces 3D seismic data import, multi-screen display, and a Machine Learning Toolkit for enhanced geophysical data analysis.
One of the key updates is the ability to import 3D SEGY seismic data into the Seismic Depth Tool. After using the Import Wizard, you can export this data as 3D seismic voxels or as selected inline and crossline slices. Additionally, improvements have been made to velocity importing and time-to-depth conversion, making the process more efficient and accurate.

Another significant addition is the floating window feature for multi-screen display. This allows you to move plots created in PA Explorer outside of the main window and view them on additional monitors. This enhancement is particularly useful for QA/QC processes, as it facilitates better viewing and interpretation of large datasets.
The release also includes a new Machine Learning Toolkit. This plugin enables you to perform Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and K-Means Clustering on either a multi-banded field in a Geosoft database (GDB) or on a multi-banded grid. PCA is a linear dimensionality reduction technique that transforms multi-dimensional data onto a new coordinate system, making it easy to identify the directions that capture the largest variation. K-Means Clustering partitions data into clusters, often following PCA to optimise input by reducing the number of bands.

About PA Explorer
PA Explorer is a sophisticated application designed for analysing and visualising geophysical data in profiles, maps, and 3D displays. It supports single or multi-channel data from both airborne and ground surveys, including airborne electromagnetic (AEM) and potential field data such as gravity and magnetic surveys. With advanced 2D and 3D visualisation capabilities, PA Explorer offers interactive interpretation features and templates that streamline the creation of application-specific displays. Geophysicists and exploration geologists can easily combine profiles, sections, maps, and graphs to produce high-quality outputs, making the routine production of maps, sections, and profiles straightforward and efficient.
