Studio RM 3.1 Public Release

GEOLOGY-Studio-RM-3.1

Studio RM 3.1 includes enhancements across implicit modelling, estimation workflows, data import, and digitizing.

You can now model all, selected, or visible data in any implicit modelling command (Vein, Contact Surface, Categorical Value, Grade Shells). New resolution controls fine-tune surface density, while snapping to drillhole milestones is now default. Surfaces and points can also be coloured by stratigraphy for clearer 3D interpretation.

The Show Samples tool can now display contributing samples for any estimated field, useful for multi-domain parent cells, and dynamic anisotropy options have been added for flat or inclined orientations (matching the flexibility of ANISOANG).

Data import now supports Leapfrog® mesh and project model files via a new driver, allowing drag-and-drop wireframe imports that retain original mesh names (you can also import individual meshes).

The new Geosoft® driver adds support for voxel models with geophysical inversion data, while new multi-file load options let you import mixed CAD, BMF, and DMX files directly into memory or your project.

Commands and processes get a refresh too: A new core command, digitise-doughnut assists with the design of internal structural voids; COMPDH now supports up to five ZONE and DOM fields; and COPYMOD, REBLOCK, WIREFILL, and INTEXT now support retrieval criteria. Last but not least, the smooth-gradient tool fully smooths preselected strings for cleaner geometries, saving time and effort.

In scripting, a secure CreateObject method replaces deprecated ActiveX instantiation, with a built-in updater and visual prompts to assist migration. Ribbon layouts for Data, Format, and 3D View are now standard across Studio products while retaining product-specific modelling layouts.

Finally, Studio RM 3.1 provides early access to advanced digitising controls introduces new-string and extend-string options to constrain segment orientation, length, and azimuth. Please let us know what you think.
