DataBlast 2.13 Public Release

PLANNING-DataBlast-2.13

DataBlast 2.13 introduces a new blast costing module alongside CAD, charging, administration and MineTrust integration enhancements that give you more control over costing, clearer visualisation and smoother configuration across the platform.

Blast Costing report in DataBlast 2.13

The new blast costing module lets you define unit costs and generate costing reports for selected patterns, making it easier to analyse blast expenditure in a consistent way. You can maintain costs as general items, such as per pattern, per hole, per hole detail or per charge deck, as well as product-linked costs for explosives and accessories, all through the DataBlast Application Menu. Product costs are now effective-dated, with historical entries retained automatically when prices change, so you can report accurately using current or past pricing when needed.

You can run the Blast Costing Report from the Reports ribbon tab for one or more selected patterns in any module, provided one of those patterns is the active pattern. The report date determines which effective-dated prices are applied, which means you can compare costs over time by running the report for different dates and reviewing the outputs side by side. Costing calculations can also use design data and/or as-built data, depending on how your cost items are configured, and you can import Blast Costing Report templates using the available report design data described in the Data Dictionary.

This release also improves usability across the interface and CAD environment. In Local Settings, you can now customise colours for detonator cord product buttons and initiation analysis deck-per-delay graphs, with all colour controls grouped on a dedicated Display Colour tab and CAD View and CAD Drawing/Rotation settings combined into a single CAD View tab. In CAD, the View toolbar now supports render, shade and 3D wire-frame display states, while textured wireframe importing has been improved so multi-texture OBJ models and other supported formats import as a single polyface. A new draw timeout setting also helps reduce tearing when rotating large textured surfaces, and the new VDraw Alpha Shape method produces pattern boundaries that more closely follow hole outlines for better visual accuracy.

Additional updates support more flexible charging workflows and stronger system administration. Conventional and G-Blast charge standards now include a Treat Wet Holes as Dewatered option, helping sites manage wet-hole charging where dewatered behaviour is required. Custom property definitions can now include default values for Boolean, Decimal, Integer and String fields, and key site configuration changes such as coordinate settings, GPS references and drill offsets now trigger a verification prompt and are logged with the date and username. DataBlast 2.13 also adds early MineTrust integration settings, including Local Settings controls, a ribbon option to show or hide the MineTrust Tree, and a startup prompt in DataBlast Client (Pro) and Ignite to help you configure the MineTrust Root Directory during first-run setup for beta testing.

About DataBlast

DataBlast covers the entire open pit drill and blast (D&B) process, from design to firing, using CAD-based design tools and an intuitive user interface. Used by D&B engineers and operators, DataBlast enables detailed D&B pattern design and efficient management of field operations, including drilling, quality assurance, charging, and initiation. DataBlast ensures safe, consistent, and high-quality blasting with features like firing simulations, contour and charge analysis, and vibration modelling. DataBlast Pro, a multi-user system, includes field data capture and a reporting data source, integrating seamlessly with BlastPad for complete control over D&B implementations. DataBlast Ignite, a stand-alone desktop solution, offers the same design tools and incorporates field data without the need for additional IT infrastructure.
