Studio RM 3.2 helps geologists and resource teams move from data to defensible models faster. This release focuses on the areas that matter most in day-to-day resource work: performance, stability, estimation control and the ability to manage increasingly large and complex geological datasets with less friction.
A key highlight is the introduction of semi-soft boundary estimation in Advanced Estimation and COKRIG. This gives resource geologists a more flexible way to manage geological boundaries by allowing samples from neighbouring domains to influence estimates only within a defined tolerance distance. The result is a controlled transition across gradational domain boundaries: less rigid than a hard boundary, but more geologically constrained than a fully soft boundary. Semi-soft boundaries also work with Custom Zones, giving users clear, fine control over cross-domain sample influence while preserving the integrity of the geological model.
Studio RM 3.2 is also significantly faster. Estimation performance has been improved, with grade estimation running up to five times faster depending on the data, while targeted block modelling, reblocking, swath plot and wireframe processes have been refactored for stronger performance. For users running large or repetitive workflows, the impact is substantial: complex workflows that previously ran overnight can now be completed in a fraction of the time, making it easier to test alternatives, review results and iterate with confidence.

This release also improves the experience of working with large projects. A new drillhole renderer makes loading, zooming and navigating larger drillhole datasets more responsive, while continued graphics improvements support smoother interaction with block models and other large 3D data. Faster file handling and project performance improvements also reduce the small delays that can slow down everyday modelling work.
For geological modelling workflows, Studio RM 3.2 strengthens the connection between interpretation and resource modelling. A new Studio Mapper importer allows mapping data to be brought directly into Studio RM for use in modelling workflows. Implicit modelling has improved handling of gaps in vein modelling, while dynamic anisotropy updates support more flexible estimation workflows. The release also introduces the experimental COMPMAX process, which uses simulated annealing to create optimised ore composites where traditional compositing approaches may be too restrictive.

Practical modelling improvements continue throughout the product. Boolean tools now support key fields, improving control and reliability when combining, intersecting or extracting wireframes across domains. Multiple section creation directly in the 3D window makes it easier to navigate through data, review interpretations and reproduce consistent views for modelling and plotting.
Together, these improvements make Studio RM 3.2 a stronger platform for modern resource geology: faster where performance matters, more flexible where geology is complex, and more practical for teams who need to move efficiently from interpretation to estimation, validation and reporting.
